Cowboy Tour

Important Information

• The minimum number of participants required for a tour is 2 people.
• Private tours are available upon request and subject to availability. A minimum of 2 participants is required to book a private tour.
• The maximum group size is 18 people.
• Large backpacks, scarves, and ponchos are not permitted during the tour.
• Please inform us in advance if any participant has physical limitations, such as joint, back, mobility, or other health-related issues that may affect their ability to participate.
• Participants must not attend the tour under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substances.
• Children under 5 years old must ride with a parent or relative on the same horse, provided that the combined weight does not exceed the maximum weight limit of 230 lbs (approximately 105 kg).
• Children up to 3 years old participate free of charge.
• Children over 3 and up to 5 years old: a special rate of USD $25 applies.
• Children over 5 years old must pay the regular tour rate currently in effect.
• If there is any doubt regarding a participant's weight, the guide or receptionist must ask the tourist to step on the scale to obtain the exact weight and ensure that the weight capacity of each horse is not exceeded.
• For safety reasons, all participants must follow the instructions provided by the guides at all times.

Reservation and Cancellation Policies

• All reservations and cancellations must be made in writing.
• All reservations must be secured with a prepayment.
• 75% refund for cancellations made 9 days or more before the tour date.
• 50% refund for cancellations made between 3 and 8 days before the tour date.
• No refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of the tour.
• No refunds for cancellations during Easter Week (Semana Santa) or Christmas holidays.
• No refunds for no-shows.
• Rancho La Merced reserves the right to modify or cancel tours due to weather conditions, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our control.

Payment Methods

• Credit or debit card at the ranch reception

Tour Policies and Supplier Commissions

• Suppliers may charge clients the rack rate directly and, in turn, Rancho La Merced will invoice the supplier at the net rate. This allows the supplier to receive their 20% commission immediately.
• If Rancho La Merced collects payment directly from the client, the client will be charged the rack rate and the supplier's commission will be accumulated and paid on the 10th day of the following month.
• Upon receiving the commission payment, the supplier must issue an invoice. The total amount of the invoice must match the commission amount, with taxes already included.
• For commission payments, the bank account information provided must match the legal name of the company receiving the payment.
• Cash commission payments are not available.

Transportation

Rancho La Merced does not provide transportation services. However, if needed, we can assist in arranging pick-up and drop-off services with trusted local taxi drivers who regularly work with our guests.

Transportation fees are separate from the tour price and are paid directly to the driver.
